Rob Mackey and his wife, Jan, owners of the locally popular Bagelheads, have twins who are 3 1/2 years old.

Rob has two older sisters, and he said he learned everything about women from “my Mom, my sisters, and most importantly, my wife. I have always been around smart, strong-willed and intelligent women.’’

Jan and Rob met in Mobile, and they both liked Pensacola so much they decided to start our own business.

Here are the five things Rob has learned from women:

1. I’m not as smart as I thought I was.

2. Sometimes it is wise to concede an argument, even if you are right.

3. Just because it doesn’t smell bad doesn't mean you can wear it again today.

4. Moms don’t always want to know everything you did.

5. Family is the most important thing there is. It takes a lot of work, determination, humility and some forgiveness to keep it strong, but the rewards are well worth it.
